St Augustine's CE School

Learning for Life

What an amazing time we had at the Calderdale School's Poetry Slam. This event was held at The Victoria Theatre in Halifax and our Y6 pupils performed brilliantly. They wrote their own poem and performed it on stage with the lights and microphones on a big stage!

Click below to watch their performance and the announcement that they came a fantastic 3RD PLACE!! Congratulations to Zarwa, Aahil, Rumaisa and Yahya - We are really proud of you!

Our Value this half term is FORGIVENESS. We are thinking about what it means to really forgive someone for something they have done wrong. How easy do we find this? When we say sorry what does it mean to us for someone to forgive us? Is it easy to forgive someone?

We are exploring more about FORGIVENESS in our collective worships this half term. There are some things to think about on the values sheet below.

Welcome

Welcome to the family of St Augustine’s Church of England School!

I am delighted and privileged to introduce myself as the Headteacher of St Augustine’s CE School. I am really excited to get to know all members of our school community – parents, children, staff and governors.

Our school is situated in West Central Halifax and serves a local community where children from different faiths, backgrounds and abilities learn, socialise and play together. We          are a church school and embed Christian values into all aspects of school life. Our Christian Values - chosen by the pupils, staff, parents and governors are Friendship, Honesty, Respect and Care.

This term, we have been revisiting our Curriculum to ensure that it provides high quality learning opportunities, based on the interests and experiences of our children. Through well-planned and sequenced learning, each child will develop their knowledge, skills and individual qualities within a safe and stimulating learning environment.

As staff and governors, we have revisited our vision for the school. Everything that we do has our vision rooted in our children and their needs at the centre.

Our School is a beacon of hope, where children and adults are respected and flourish individually; where achievement, aspiration are developed and nurtured and confidence built. A caring community where experiences help us learn for life and find our place within the world.

I hope you enjoy finding out all about the caring school family that I am privileged to lead on our new website. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to come and look around our school or if you require any further information about us.

I look forward to meeting you.

Mrs Ruth Lee
Headteacher
